In a world where emotional resilience, kindness, and community are needed more than ever, Miss Dorothy’s Garden Legacy Project is planting seeds of hope through the BEE Buddy Program.

The Miss Dorothy's Garden BEE Buddy Program Is the Answer For Children's Mental Health & Emotional Resilience

But what exactly is a BEE Buddy—and why does it matter?

At its heart, the BEE Buddy Program invites children around the world to join Miss Dorothy and her BEE Helpers in sowing kindness wherever they go. Inspired by the incredible century-long legacy of Dorothy Witherspoon, we believe that teaching the BEE Attitudes early—principles like being Open, Peaceful, Good, Brave, Proud, Caring, Pure, Bold, and Generous—equips children with the emotional intelligence and character they need to flourish personally and transform their neighborhoods into blooming gardens of hope.

When a child becomes a BEE Buddy, they are not just receiving a beautifully illustrated book or a box of supplies. They are receiving an invitation to belong to something bigger:

  • To build emotional strength.

  • To practice kindness, creativity, and leadership.

  • To connect with a global community of peers who are committed to making the world a better place.

Each BEE Buddy receives a BEE Buddy Box, filled with powerful tools:

📚 A hardcover copy of Miss Dorothy’s Garden: 9 BEE Attitudes to Grow By
🎨 A
Kindness Kit filled with creative supplies to spread joy and encouragement
🌱 A
Bloom Project Pack with seeds, soil, and a pot to teach real lessons about growth and care
📖 A
BEE Attitude Guide for parents, teachers, and faith leaders to extend the impact at home, school, or church.

Now, we need your help to expand this movement.

Become a Sponsor. Become a Partner in Growth.

Through the generosity of public institutions, private businesses, and faith communities, we can extend the BEE Buddy Program to hundreds—and eventually thousands—of children in underserved communities across San Francisco, South Africa, and beyond.

Public Partners like libraries, schools, and city agencies can:

  • Help distribute BEE Buddy Boxes to students and families

  • Underwrite Miss Dorothy’s Garden Parties and MyStoryBook Workshops

  • Incorporate the BEE Attitudes into youth programming for emotional health

Private Sector Partners like corporations and small businesses can:

  • Sponsor Garden Parties or Story Workshops to demonstrate corporate citizenship

  • Sponsor entire classrooms, grade levels, or school sites with BEE Buddy Boxes

  • Receive brand visibility at community events and on promotional materials

Faith Partners like churches and faith-based organizations can:

  • Sponsor BEE Buddy Boxes for children in their congregations and neighborhoods

  • Host Garden Party events that reinforce universal principles of love, service, and community

  • Become a BEE Buddy Sponsor of schools to connect families with spiritual and emotional support

Every sponsorship, every donation, every act of partnership nurtures a child’s heart and mind, helping them become strong, hopeful contributors to their communities—and helping us stay ahead of "Karl the Fog," the villain struggling emotionally and wreaking havoc wherever he goes.

You can sponsor one child. Or one classroom. Or an entire school.

Visit missdorothysgarden.com/sponsor today to learn more about how you can become a BEE Buddy Friend, Champion, or Partner and help us cultivate a world where every child has the opportunity to bloom in your neighborhood and in South Africa through our international partner.

Together, we are building a movement of kindness—one BEE Buddy at a time.
