Every Movement Needs Messengers
Children everywhere are facing overwhelming mental health challenges, but they don’t always have the tools to share their feelings, tell their stories, or survive what life throws at them.
After giving money, you are the most valuable resource we have. Your gifts, story, and presence are needed to transform a child, a family, and a community.
BEE Buddy Ambassadors are vital Vivid Academy volunteers who bring our programs to life by helping children discover the power of planting kindness seeds in themselves and others.
Your Kindness Matters
Getting involved as a BEE Buddy Ambassador with Vivid Academy is a way to mobilize mission-minded volunteers to serve, grow, and witness the local and global movement of kindness.

Represent Miss Dorothy’s Garden as a BEE Buddy Ambassador, enlisting children around the world to work with Miss Dorothy and her BEE helpers to sow kindness seeds wherever they go.
Empowering Families, Educators, & Churches
At the heart of the Miss Dorothy’s Garden Legacy Project is a simple but profound idea: kindness is a seed that can grow in every heart. The program uses our beautifully illustrated children's book—Miss Dorothy’s Garden: 9 BEE Attitudes to Grow By—as the foundation for a series of hands-on activities and storytelling experiences that build emotional resilience in children.
Families, educators, and churches are equipped with engaging tools like the BEE Buddy Box, the BEE Attitudes Guides, and MyStoryBook Workshop Kits. These resources help kids internalize the rhymes associated with each BEE Attitude—building mental muscle memory for the moments they need it most.
Through your generous tax-deductible contributions, the Book & BEE Buddy Box Giveaway Program aims to distribute Miss Dorothy's Garden books along with BEE Buddy Boxes to childcare centers, schools, after-school programs, community centers, and children of the incarcerated.
This initiative is designed to instill the BEE Attitudes from a young age, fostering kindness, empathy, and emotional intelligence among children in varied educational and social settings.
Your support extends beyond books to providing essential learning tools that help shape the character and futures of young learners, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to grow and thrive in their communities and beyond.
Garden Parties bring Miss Dorothy’s Garden to life through joy-filled gatherings that combine literacy, creativity, and connection. Children receive their very own BEE Buddy Box filled with a copy of the book, a Kindness Kit, Bloom Project tools, and a BEE Attitude Guide to help them carry the message home.
Special Guest Readers—local heroes, artists, and leaders—make the story unforgettable. Through interactive stations, children plant seeds, craft kindness projects, and explore the 9 BEE Attitudes in playful, meaningful ways.
Every Garden Party is a cultural bridge, too. Children in San Francisco and South Africa exchange photo cards and letters, forming friendships across continents. And our generous sponsors are honored with visible recognition that reflects their heart for impact.
The MyStoryBook Workshops help children become authors of their own lives. With a BEE Buddy Box in hand—including writing tools, art supplies, and a storytelling guide—children are equipped to explore and express their unique voices at every age.
Through hands-on sessions, they learn to shape characters, build plots, and craft meaningful messages. Digital storytelling tools make it easy for them to bring their stories to life with illustrations, animations, and audio—showcasing their creativity in powerful ways.
Children finish by sharing their stories with family and friends in a special celebration. These moments build confidence, affirm identity, and plant the seeds for a future where every child knows their story matters.

South Africa is where the garden began to bloom internationally.
What started as a personal caregiving journey and a family legacy project became something far bigger during a visit to Johannesburg. There, we discovered kindred communities—with shared challenges, radiant potential, and a hunger for programs that build emotional resilience and cross-cultural connection.
Launching Miss Dorothy’s Garden in South Africa is not an act of outreach—it is an act of partnership. The pilot is a seed for global growth, rooted in shared values and mutual honor. We begin in Alexandra Township and in the Bayview Hunters Point community of San Francisco—two neighborhoods with rich cultural soil, ready for the harvest of kindness, creativity, and collaboration.
By beginning simultaneously in South Africa and San Francisco, we’re proving a model that can be scaled—honoring the global reach of a 100-year legacy while fulfilling our call to design and deliver innovative learning to live™.
Miss Dorothy’s Garden is a living expression of Vivid Academy’s commitment to making vision vivid. While our core mission is to empower individuals and communities to create sustainable wealth, we believe that process starts with identity, emotional resilience, and the ability to tell one’s story.
This program uses the power of storytelling, kindness, and community engagement to sow the seeds of transformation early—particularly in children. By cultivating emotional intelligence through the 9 BEE Attitudes, we are not just planting gardens—we are planting vision in young hearts. It is entrepreneurship of the soul.
Miss Dorothy’s Garden introduces children to the language of purpose, helping them recognize the impact of their thoughts, words, and actions. It connects directly to our mission to inspire collaborative action and design innovative learning experiences that lead to real-world impact.
The Miss Dorothy’s Garden Legacy Project is an initiative of Vivid Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to invest in people and their ideas.
We believe in building bright futures for children, families, and communities across the globe by empowering them to tell their vivid life stories and create wealth to solve their own problems.
All donations are tax-deductible and processed securely through our fundraising partner, Givebutter.
